TU06 - LIGHTNING ROUND: KC Streetcar: The Owner, the Operator, the Advocate

Aug 28, 2018 9:45am ‐ Aug 28, 2018 11:00am

Kansas City’s Streetcar has fast become one of the most successful modern streetcar programs in the country. Both ridership and economic development have skyrocketed past projections. This story will be told from the perspective of the design consultant: what went into the design, construction, and testing of the system; the project manager: how to transition from plan-to-project-to-program; the transit advocate: how to organize community support for a transit initiative.
