TU14 - Jennings Randolph Fellow Presentation: Southern Sweden’s Winter Maintenance Practices

The American Public Works Association (APWA), in association with the Eisenhower Institute at Gettysburg College (EI), is pleased to introduce the 2017 Jennings Randolph International Fellow, Aaron Putnam, who participated in this unique international study and professional exchange opportunity to promote collaboration and the sharing of public works best practices.

This presentation will highlight findings from his study tour researching winter maintenance practices in three cities in Sweden.

Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this session, you will be better able to: 

  • Discuss the differences in winter maintenance practices used in Sweden vs. the practices used by your agency.
  • Review your agency’s current winter maintenance practices and decide if any of the practices used in Sweden would work for your agency.
  • Identify improvements that could be made to your agency’s winter maintenance practices.
