Scott McDonald

Scott McDonald has 14 years of experience in the planning and management of technology-based asset management solutions, development and execution of technical training programs, project budget development and financial management, staff leadership, and client support within a variety of organizational environments. He continues to work with sustainment management systems (SMS) products, which are developed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, to produce efficient management practices that increase effectiveness and cost savings within organizations.

Prior to joining Atkins in 2011, Scott spent 12 years as a Program Director at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign working directly with the U.S. Army Corps software development teams and organizations to support and promote asset management. Leveraging his education and experience, Mr. McDonald supports and troubleshoots the SMS software products (PAVER/BUILDER) and provides customized sustainment management system design and implementation assistance to organizations.

Current involvement includes serving as the technical support and training point of contact for the American Public Works Association for the PAVER™ SMS (pavement management), and formal (CRADA) partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to provide distribution, support, and training services on the BUILDER™ SMS (facility management). He possesses extensive experience working within a variety of organizational environments including federal, state, and local governments, higher education, the Department of Defense (DoD), and private industry.
