One definition of attitude is: A complex mental state involving beliefs and feelings and values and dispositions to act in certain ways, i.e. “he had the attitude that work was fun.” Parents remind children to “change your attitude”. But if it is such a complex state, can it really be changed? Permanently? Temporarily? For the better? For the worse?

The workplace runs much smoother if those involved share similar goals. However, everyone may view those goals with differing levels of acceptance. The manner in which they work towards attaining the goal can also be a negative or a positive.

Understanding goes a long way towards making the workplace a more positive environment.
