Today’s water sector utilities also face a broad range of complex challenges, including rising costs and affordability, aging infrastructure, on-going regulatory requirements, enhanced customer expectations, and rapidly evolving technology. Utilities need a common- sense, replicable, and proactive set of approaches to meet these current and future challenges.

Effective Utility Management (EUM) is a widely recognized water utility management program, developed by sector leaders, based around Ten Key Management Areas of an Effectively Managed Utility and Five Keys to Management Success. EUM is simple, actionable, and affordable – it helps you protect your infrastructure investments and ensure that your workforce is able to address the challenges that they face every day.

After attending this program, participants will be better able to:

- Explain EUM and why is it important to the water sector and in the community.

- Utilize the EUM Self-Assessment exercise to take a 360-degree look at current performance and goals for the future, relative to the Ten Attributes..

- Explain how to use the Self-Assessment results to implement EUM at a utility in a step-wise manner, at a pace that works for the agency and staff, by implementing effective practices, measuring progress, and improving along the way.

This program has been approved for .2 CEUs or 2 PDHs. Please note there is a $7 fee per non-member individual requesting CEUs (there is no fee for members).
