This session will address implementing alt fuel vehicles (AFVs) in public works fleets including evaluation of AFV availability and applicability, fuel station development and O&M options, maintenance facility modification requirements, and potential adjustments to operational practices.

How to compare AFV’s performance and economics to traditional gasoline and diesel vehicles
Biodiesel, ethanol, CNG, LNG and propane fuel properties; procurement, storage and handling
EV charging station design, operation and economics
Vehicle maintenance facility code compliance and potential modifications to accommodate gaseous fuels (CNG, LNG, propane)

After viewing this program, participants will be better able to:

Compare the performance and economics of traditional gasoline and diesel vehicles to those using alternative fuels.
Analyze the modifications needed to shop if alternative fuels will be used
Identify changes needed to fueling operations for alternative fuels.
